Trade Compliance Specialist

Experis, a division of ManpowerGroup, has partnered with an American multinational oil and gas corporation for a Trade Compliance Specialist to work on site in Spring, TX.

Job Title: Trade Compliance Specialist
Pay: $45 per hour
Location: Onsite - Spring, TX

MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Responsibilities include liaise with Customs/Excise officers and other 3rd party, verify shipping documents for endorsement, prepare cover letter with the endorsed documents and send to 3rd party Trades and Affiliates.
• Ensure compliance with Foreign-Trade Zone legal requirements, ensure barrier-free trade, establish effective internal controls to protect the Company, optimize trade performance , and reducing costs .
• This role will interface with external consultants, leadership at the site including internal business leaders, legal, supply chain, logistics , finance, external brokers, and customs authorities to provide key inputs that inform business decisions and manage, monitor , and improve preventive and detective FTZ compliance controls.
• Identifies specific regulations and other rules applied to imported goods and products. Determines if goods and products are subject to duty exemption under specific trade agreements.
• Determines if different trade laws apply to imported products.
  

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 to 5 years' experience with international shipping
• Awareness of trade regulations and Foreign-Trade Zone legal requirements.
• Understanding of Harmonized Tariff Schedule Code.
• Understanding of Export Control Class Numbers (ECCN)
• Typically, an expert in the field who can provide training to junior team members.
• Experienced with the petroleum / chemical industry
• Preferred

  • Certified Customs Specialist
