The Community Services Division, Behavioral Health Grants Section (BHGS) is responsible for a variety of functions related to the remediation of the opioid crisis, including the administration of the Naloxone Distribution Project which distributes life-saving naloxone to combat opioid-related overdoses in California. The BHGS administers grant funding to support the DHCS Opioid Response for opioid-related prevention, harm reduction and treatment projects which includes release of funding applications, contract development and project oversight. In addition, the BHGS administers the Crisis Counseling and Assistance Training Program (CCP) which is a federally funded grant program in response to natural and man-made disasters within California.
About this Role:
Under the direction of the CSB, the Staff Services Manager (SSM) II of the Behavioral Health Grants Section, is responsible for personnel management and to plan, organize, monitor, and oversee the funding and programs related to the State's Naloxone Distribution Project (NDP), various medication assisted treatment (MAT) expansion projects, and the CalHOPE Crisis Counseling and Assistance Training Program (CCP). The SSM II serves as the primary representative on behalf of CSD regarding the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS/Department) opioid-related activities and oversight of emergency grant programs. The SSM II will manage and provide supervision of two units: Contracts and Policy Unit and Disaster Response Unit. The SSM II interfaces with other state departments, federal agencies, provider organizations, and various stakeholders. Periodic statewide travel may be required.
Travel is required 5 % of the time.
Results from the SSM II examination currently in progress may be utilized for filling the(se) position(s).
This position may be subject to the Department's Conflict of Interest Code and requires annual filing of a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700).

Telework Information
This position may be eligible for telework up to three days per week and is required to report in-person and site-based a minimum of two days per week.
