Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator I, incumbent will independently be performing the more difficult accounting work in the General Ledger Unit including, but not limited to, reconciling the General Ledgers to the State Controller's Office (SCO) balances for the department's complex funds; preparing, reviewing and analyzing financial reports, statements, accounts and records; maintaining General Ledgers; and performing related analyses on financial records, appropriations, fund balances, cash balances, general ledger accounts, and resolving variances.
Duties include but are not limited to:
•Analyze, evaluate, and reconcile accounting records in Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) System with State Controllers Office (SCO)'s Legacy accounts and other subsystems and reports.
•Monitor and analyze the cash and appropriation balances to ensure sufficient balances are available for the program operations.
•Complete year-end financial reports in conformance with the Budgetary/Legal and/or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) basis for submission to SCO.
•Perform monthly Bank Reconciliation for all Centralized State Treasury System (CTS) accounts.
•Perform reconciliation of Escheat Revenue.

Working Conditions
The incumbent works in an office setting with workstations and private offices. The incumbent will have a workstation with modular furniture, a phone, an adding machine, and a computer with various desktop programs. A printer is located outside of the workstation. The workstation is also equipped with an adjustable roller chair, file drawer cabinets that roll, stationary file drawers, and a desktop of standard height. The Financial Services office area is equipped with two photocopying machines and a fax machine. Files with shelves are located throughout the office.
Regular or recurring telework may occur as part of the incumbents ongoing regular schedule in accordance with CDFA's Telework Policy. Currently, this position operates under a hybrid telework plan of two days in the office and three days of telework. The initial training period of approximately 1-3 months for this position, will require the candidate to work 100% in the office.
