Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing a variety of specialized and complex professional work that facilitate the operations of the ADR and ORS leadership team. Provides administrative and operational support services for the ADR and ORS leadership team within the College of Nursing including but not limited to: interpreting, monitoring, and analyzing information regarding operating policies and procedures; assisting in the development and implementation of ORS-wide goals, objectives, planning/forecasting, and the day-to-day office functions; developing and updating administrative systems to make them more efficient.
  • Serves as manager of the Office of Research and Scholarship (ORS), contributing to the team by scheduling meetings, taking minutes, setting agenda items, and following up/reporting on issues discussed. Other duties include tracking all research and technology supply/equipment needs, managing purchasing and monitoring systems, designing and maintain filing systems, assigning and monitoring clerical functions, and maintain office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement.
  • Assists with the development and management of programs for tenure-track/tenured faculty offered by the ADR and ORS leadership team. This includes developing and maintaining databases of faculty achievements, publications, grant submissions, and developing protocols for monitoring progress and milestone achievements.
  • Processes purchase orders, receipts, and travel for assigned units (e.g., tenure-track/tenured faculty) reporting to the ADR and ORS leadership team, as well as miscellaneous assignments as needed.
  • Manages special projects assigned by the ADR and ORS leadership team and assists with event planning and logistics, including collecting and preparing background materials and responding to inquiries received.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

  • Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and retrieve files from active or archive sources. Basic filing practices to include numeric and alphabetic systems.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of event planning and ability to coordinate, organize and evaluate meetings and/or events.
  • Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and etiquette.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with website design.

Anticipated Salary Range

$47,660-$55,000, commensurate with education and experience.
