Enterprise Data Governance & Platforms (EDGP) is part of the larger Enterprise Digital and Data Solutions (EDDS) organization. EDGP improves the customer experience and drives business growth through robust enterprise-wide data policies and governance and enabling a data-driven culture, while developing digital and data platforms that provide insightful customer relationships and allow users to leverage enterprise-wide data capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Senior Analyst Data Governance & Management role will support the data activation process of bringing critical data under governance across business units at American Express, as outlined in the organization's Enterprise Data Governance Policy. This role will also provide support in training, communications, and change management related to data governance across the enterprise.

Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits

Primary Responsibilities:
The Senior Analyst Data Governance & Management role will support the data activation process of bringing critical data under governance across business units at American Express, as outlined in the organization's Enterprise Data Governance Policy. This role will also provide support in training, communications, and change management related to data governance across the enterprise.
- Support execution of data activation activities and processes related to business metadata acquisition, mappings, and curation, to bring data under governance.
- Contributing to development and maintenance of best practices, procedures, and methodologies to assist in the implementation of Data Governance policy and standards.
- Communicating data management requirements to federated data office teams to efficiently bring data under governance.
A successful candidate will have:
- Basic experience/knowledge of Data Governance/Data Management tools. (Collibra is preferred)
- Understanding of data lifecycle management principals and data risks and controls in privacy, data quality, and data stewardship.
- High degree of organization, individual initiative, results and solution oriented, and personal accountability and resiliency.
- Ability to collaborate, influence, and communicate across multiple stakeholders and levels of leadership, speaking at the appropriate level of detail to both business executives and technology teams.
- Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and encourage partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
- Proven track record of driving results in a fast-paced environment often with significant ambiguity and needing to make decisions with less than perfect information.
- Eagerness to test, learn, fail, and improve is essential.
- Must have a positive, collaborative leadership style with colleague and customer first attitude.
