With general direction provided by the Chief Assistant Inspector General, the Senior Assistant Inspector General will have supervisorial responsibility for the Special Assistant Inspectors General in his or her region. The Senior Assistant Inspector General will perform and supervise the monitoring and reporting of sensitive, complex, controversial, or other high-level investigations involving allegations of misconduct and critical incidents that occur within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The Senior Assistant Inspector General will supervise a team of Special Assistant Inspectors General who perform the monitoring of the involved state entities, including the regional Employment Advocacy and Prosecution Team, the regional Office of Internal Affairs, and other California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation employees, to ensure the appropriateness of policies, practices, and disciplinary decisions within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
