Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Business Analyst with a passion for data governance with and the ability to do process modeling to join our team and help establish foundational data governance practices from the ground up as well as across business domains. The Senior Business Analyst will be instrumental in guiding our organization through the initial stages of its data governance journey, collaborating closely with stakeholders to define strategies, processes, and standards to ensure alignment with the business and effective data management & compliance.

Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with key stakeholders to assess and collect current data governance maturity levels and identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities for improvement within and across there domains.

* Assist in the development and implementation of a data governance framework tailored to the organization's needs and objectives, considering industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

* Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather requirements, priorities, and expectations for data governance initiatives.

* Support the establishment of data governance roles, responsibilities, and governance structures, including data governance councils and working groups.

* Facilitate discussions and decision-making processes to define data governance policies, procedures, and standards, modeling process flows, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.

* Collaborate with IT teams to assess and collect existing data management processes, systems, and technologies, and identify opportunities for enhancement or integration with data governance initiatives.

* Develop and deliver training sessions, workshops, materials to increase awareness and understanding of data governance principles, practices, and benefits across the organization.

* Assist in the selection and implementation of data governance tools and technologies to support metadata management, data quality assessment, data lineage tracking and Business process modeling.

* Assist in the development and implementation of reports for key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to data governance effectiveness, compliance, and adoption, and recommend corrective actions as needed.

* Monitor and communicate report results on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to data governance effectiveness, compliance, and adoption.

* Stay current with emerging trends, standards, and regulations in data governance and share insights and best practices with the team and stakeholders.

* Responsible for documenting data flows capturing various processes within the organization, identifying touchpoints and potential areas of data governance concern.

* Identifying Data Dependencies between business processes and data elements, helping to ensure that data governance policies are applied consistently across different areas.

* Defining Data Ownership and flow of data, and data sets, create accountability and responsibility for data governance tasks.

* Collaborate with stakeholders to establish standards for data quality and integrate these measures into the business processes they model, ensuring that data governance principles are embedded into day-to-day operations.

* Ensure that business processes adhere to relevant regulatory requirements regarding data handling and privacy, helping the organization to maintain compliance and mitigate risks.

* Collaborate with data governance teams to identify areas for continuous improvement in data management practices and integrate these improvements into updated process models.

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor's degree in business administration, business process management, Information Systems, or related field; master's degree preferred.

* Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in business analysis, data management and business process modeling, preferably in a data governance context.

* Familiarity with data governance principles, frameworks, and methodologies, with a willingness to learn and adapt to evolving best practices.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts and requirements into actionable recommendations and solutions.

* Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

* Proactive with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, able to work effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment.

* Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing competing priorities and deadlines.

* Knowledge of data management tools and technologies, such as data cataloging, metadata management, and data quality tools, is a plus.

* Relevant certifications in business analysis, data management, or data governance (e.g., CBAP, CDMP, DGSP) are desirable but not required.
