Stantec's multi-disciplinary office in Charleston, SC has an opportunity for a highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer with experience in site civil engineering design. Your Opportunity
The role of the Senior Civil Engineer is to work independently and as a team member on projects of various size and complexity. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations, prepare detailed construction documents via AutoCAD Civil 3D, QA/QC and managing staff. This role also leads the analysis of proposed projects to ensure proper design, resource efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will work on a wide array of site civil engineering projects in the industrial, residential, public, recreation, and commercial market sectors.
This position has the flexibility of working in a hybrid work environment with a mix of in-office and work-from-home arrangements.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer. Minimum of 10 years of experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for large projects of high complexity.
- Evaluate work products and provide markups for junior engineers/designers.
- Leads project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, regulatory agencies, sub-contractors, and vendors.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of project specifications with the help of administrative/clerical staff.
- Develops and manages the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
- Leads the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
- Participates in constructability review.
- Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
- Develops project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects.
- Assists with the development of proposal for smaller, less complex projects.
- Oversees and manages multiple projects.
Qualifications

- Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project document production.
- Checks the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule.
- Participates and collaborates in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
- Advanced understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to communicate ideas to others.
- Effective communicator and able to work on and lead teams.
- Efficient project management of multiple concurrent projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software, which may include AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, and PondPack.
Education and Experience
