Summary

The Senior Coordinator, Program Management, with guidance from the Associate and Assistant Center Directors, oversees the day-to-day administration of the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center Plan to Enhance Diversity. This position is a highly collaborative, self-motivated, creative person that is adaptable to new processes with capacity to function independently. Successful candidates are knowledgeable (or able to become knowledgeable) of current cancer health trends that are impacted by leadership, faculty, staff, and trainees within the Cancer Center.

Job Duties

  • Ensures day-to-day operations of the program within the DLDCCC.
  • Reviews and updates all information shared through the program.
  • Maintains accurate event calendars and communicates event details with the team.
  • Coordinates/schedules events, team meetings, steering committee meetings, collaborator meetings, luncheons, seminars, webinars, conferences, and travel plans.
  • Prepares research/career development education materials including course materials etc.
  • Prepares meeting agendas, reserves rooms and facilities, and distributes minutes of meetings.
  • Initiates and complete agreements for speakers, consultants, and professional service providers.
  • Compiles all data required for progress and financial reporting.
  • Coordinates and tracks recruitment of leaders/faculty/staff/trainees.
  • Verifies information or records and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Hires, trains, manages, supervises, and evaluates paid and/or volunteer student staff/interns.
  • Maintains program website and social media platforms.
  • Organizes research/career development education programs.
  • Cultivates and maintain relationships to foster recruitment, program experiences, and outreach.
  • Develops strategic plans, goals, and measurable objectives for education programs and services.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders on and off campus to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to promoting career development.
  • Prepares materials, set-up, plans, and implement events and networking activities.
  • Serves as direct contact for trainees, faculty, and leadership by phone, email or website inquiry.
  • Compiles all data required for progress and financial reports.
  • Coordinates and tracks recruitment of interns/scholars and tracks deliverables.
  • Verifies information or records and ensures accuracy and completeness.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated skills in computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Office 365).
  • Supervisory skills to effectively manage student staff or volunteers.
  • Professional writing, publications, and/or presentations or willingness to learn skill.
  • Detail oriented, problem-solving, decision-making, multitasking and time management.
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, with strong public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective conflict management and resolution.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program.
