Description: Job Summary:

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, this position is also responsible for championing business strategy and/or initiative planning by envisioning new organizational strategy processes and guiding leadership strategy conversations; overseeing leadership decision making by providing thought leadership and leveraging expert knowledge across the organization of the external marketplace and relevant tools (i.e., dashboards to track metrics) to instill a common vision across the organization; championing collaboration in strategy community of practices by driving knowledge sharing across functions and entities to identify the right strategic priorities; developing highly complex frameworks to advance strategy development by leveraging Strength Weakness Opportunity Threat (SWOT) and gap analyses to ensure that strategic opportunities are correctly identified; making key strategic decisions setting enterprise processes and market operational plans to establish management incentives; creating guidelines and rules across the organization to enable others to create consistent enterprise strategy and performance plans; and owning the execution of initiative management and prioritization across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Builds organizational capacity and prepares high potentials for growth opportunities and advancement; builds collaborative networks inside and outside the organization for self and others. Provides framework for soliciting and acting on performance feedback; drives collaboration to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to foster performance improvement. Models and drives continuous learning and oversees the recruitment, selection, and development of talent; stays current with industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices; ensures performance management guidelines and expectations to achieve business needs. Acts as a thought leader on industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices; shares best practices within and across teams to drive improvement. Motivates and empowers teams; maintains a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning cross-functional resource plans with business objectives. Provides guidance when difficult decisions need to be made; creates opportunities for expanded scope of decision making and impact across teams.

  • Oversees the operation of multiple units and/or departments by identifying member and operational needs; ensures the management of work assignment allocation and completion; translates business strategy into actionable business requirements; ensures products and/or services meet member requirements and expectations while aligning with organizational strategies. Engages strategic, cross-functional business units to champion and drive support for business plans and priorities; assumes responsibility for decision making; sets standards, measures progress, and ensures resolution of escalated issues. Sets and communicates goals and objectives; analyzes resources, costs, and forecasts and incorporates them into business plans; obtains and distributes resources. Anticipates and removes obstacles that impact performance; addresses performance gaps and implements contingency plans accordingly; ensures teams accomplish business objectives; serves as a subject-matter expert and trusted source to executive leadership; provides influence and consultation in the development of the larger organizational or business strategy.

  • Analyzes and interprets market data by: championing the data collection approach and analysis of highly complex or critical research questions and test hypotheses; shaping highly complex or critical quantitative and qualitative analyses and investigating alternative hypotheses; and utilizing key findings, conclusions, and recommendations for the future to amend or confirm overall strategic business plans.

  • Facilitates process improvement efforts by: championing year over year process improvement to achieve return on investment (ROI), operations, service quality, and results goals aligned with long term business strategy; championing the innovation and implementation of best practices across the organization; and championing the adoption of best practices and future innovations across teams.

  • Effectively manages projects and programs by: communicating with senior leadership about project details such as project objectives, key stakeholders, milestones, projecting required resources and providing deep technical leadership across company-wide programs; overseeing progress toward key goals and deliverables and resolving barriers across teams in alignment with greater business strategy; championing use of new methodologies to ensure teams project completion, and long term progress toward greater organizational goals; and shaping project outcomes, goal success, and facilitating long term organizational learning.

  • Proactively maintains open streams of communication by: navigating the leadership landscape with political sensitivity to foster strategic relationships with key stakeholders and act as a champion for their diverse and complex needs; coaching and leading others to the creative and timely resolution of issues or risks to project success; serving as an expert strategic partner to coach and lead senior leadership to develop and refine key priorities and strategy; and driving the decisions around complex strategic issues and recommendations with senior leadership, using compelling communication and political sensitivity.

  • Contributes to the development and execution of business strategy by: finalizing state-of-the-art strategic proposals for company-wide initiatives based on business case, expert knowledge of health care marketplace, and business acumen; championing complex problem scoping across the organization, and providing expert consultation on the processes and resources needed; providing expert consultation on applying strategic options, and making key recommendations based on complex problem scoping, external marketplace research, and analysis of organizational and external strategic approaches; championing challenging business goals across the organization, and providing thought leadership on processes and resources needed to accomplish them; championing teams organizational alignment around the strategic plan and intended outcomes, and finding opportunities for collaboration and synergy between organizational objectives; championing state-of-the-art strategies to mitigate highly complex or critical barriers, constraints, and risks to execution; and championing the team to assess and adjust strategic direction in response to a changing environment.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in project management, forecasting, planning, consulting, strategy development and/or execution, or a directly related field.

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports.

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Economics, Finance, or related field AND minimum eleven (11) years of experience in strategic planning, strategy facilitation, execution of large-scope strategic projects or a directly related field OR minimum fourteen (14) years of experience in strategic planning, strategy facilitation, execution of large-scope strategic projects or a directly related field.
