Johnson & Johnson is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Director to join our Supply Chain Business Development team. As a Senior Director, you will have the unique opportunity to lead and oversee the supply chain business development initiatives within our Value Chain Management organization. In this role, you will be responsible for driving exceptional business development transactions, including licensing, acquisitions, divestment, out-licensing, and third-party manufacturing requests. Your expertise and leadership will play a critical role in ensuring the success of these initiatives and the seamless integration of new projects into our routine business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Senior Director of Supply Chain Business Development, you will have a wide range of responsibilities and accountabilities. These include:

  • Participating in due diligence evaluations for licensing and M&A initiatives, assessing opportunities, gaps, issues, and risks.
  • Guiding cross-functional teams in in-depth data reviews for in-licensing and M&A opportunities.
  • Conducting on-site due diligence of manufacturing facilities for potential licensing or acquisition.
  • Negotiating manufacturing and supply terms and authoring relevant sections in agreements.
  • Presenting due diligence findings to senior management and decision-making groups.
  • Supporting divestments, out-licensing, and third-party manufacturing requests by compiling relevant information and developing agreements.
  • Leading project transitions to ensure seamless handover to appropriate teams.
  • Evaluating future assets and leading interdisciplinary teams in the pharmaceutical segment.
  • Creating strong partnerships and effective communication with important individuals or groups.
  • Mentoring and providing feedback to team members on performance and conflict resolution.
  • Driving innovation, challenging the status quo, and embedding business focus.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum requirement: BS in Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred Advanced degree in Business, Pharmacy, Technical, or equivalent experience.


Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • A minimum of 10 years of broad Supply Chain and R&D experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar industry.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple products/projects and delivering results.
  • Thorough understanding of business requirements and ability to make sound decisions driven by data and insights.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in analyzing cost and benefit factors and effectively presenting arguments for business decisions.
  • Demonstrated success in leading global teams and working across organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information.
Making decisions concerning:

  • Manufacturing and supply terms and timelines.
  • Cost of goods and cost of goods sold.
  • Technical transfer terms and timelines.
  • Transitional services terms and timelines.


Decisions and trade-offs for projects under your responsibility will need to be made taking into account the overall impact on the business, financial considerations, available resources, and implementation complexity. You will also be responsible for important decisions that could affect the net worth of Johnson & Johnson.

Other:

  • Fully proficient in English Language.
  • Need to manage communications across worldwide time zones.
  • Hybrid working environment, with 3 days in the office per week.
  • Up to 25% travel required.


The anticipated base pay range for this position is $163,000 to $282,900.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

    • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
    • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
    • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
