Would you like to be the lead for a team that is committed to producing fish in support of angling opportunities and conservation in the Bay Delta Region? Do you have a passion for fisheries? If so, please apply to join our team as a Senior Environmental Scientist Supervisor for our Hatchery Program. You'll be responsible for overseeing two hatcheries and one satellite facility, implementing a Hatchery and Genetic Management Plan, mentoring staff, and you will play an integral part of regional planning and management to benefit fisheries and aquatic resources.

A training and development assignment will be considered for this position, for a term up to 24 months.

Working Conditions
Ability to use a computer keyboard for several hours each day; complete office tasks that require sitting, standing, and walking to other locations; attend meetings and conference calls; visit all hatcheries monthly, which may require overnight travel to reach some meeting locations; hiking over uneven and possibly steep or wet terrain at fish spawning or release sites; travel of two or more days per week including occasional overnight travel. Must possess a valid driver's license and be prepared to travel using a state vehicle.

Based on operational need at the time of the job offer, this position may potentially be headquartered at any of the CDFW, Bay Delta Region offices at the following locations: Santa Rosa or Napa, CA. This position offers the possibility of an office-centered telework agreement based on the Department's current Telework Policy.

Special Requirements
The incumbent will be required to travel regularly including early mornings and sometimes overnight to hatcheries and/or meetings as needed or directed. Willingness to work in and around water.
