Responsibilities
Advising: Oversees on-campus graduate programs advising staff. Assists with advising students regarding required coursework each semester. Assists graduate students with dropping, adding, and substituting courses. Fields requests to withdraw from the University and monitors students in likely to be dismissed or placed on academic probation. Makes recommendations concerning those placed on academic probation. Reviews student files to ensure graduation requirements are met. Communicates with students regarding missing graduation requirements. Coordinates regular meetings with students discussing academic progress; coordinates with Graduate Programs Students Success Adviser as needed to ensure students' academic and career goals are aligned.
Admissions/Orientation: Oversee and coordinate the activities of employees responsible for the admission and recruitment of on-campus graduate students. Coordinates information sessions and open houses for on-campus MBA programs. Responsible for planning and coordinating recruiting activities for on-campus MBA events, including interviews and orientation. Coordinates orientation processes for on-campus MBA graduate programs; works with program coordinators to upgrade orientation processes.
Application process: Coordinates the evaluation, review, and processing of academic records for students applying to the Master of Business Administration program. Acts as liaison between Associate Dean of Graduate Programs, Director of Graduate Programs, master's Programs Director, Department Chairs, and/or Admissions Committee. Responsible for notifying applicants when specific documentation/ information is missing or required. Ensures that applicants are notified of admissions decisions in a timely manner. Serves as liaison between the College of Business Graduate Office and the University Office of Admissions and Records regarding admissions for assigned graduate programs.
Recruitment: Develop a unified, comprehensive proactive system for communication with prospective students. Work with the Assistant Director of Graduate Programs and COB marketing and communications team to develop effective and engaging materials for dissemination to prospective students to provide information about and promotion of our graduate programs. Personally follow up with prospective students, encouraging them to apply and encourage admitted applicants to accept admission and enroll. Adequately follow up with prospective students, travel will be required. Amount of travel would fluctuate throughout the year (approximately 5-10% of the calendar year).
Maintains student files, processes grade change forms and coordinates updates for each student Program of Study. Assists with Salesforce inquiry management and communications.
Ensures accuracy of courses built into the University Course Schedule Master system. Ensures accuracy of enrollment numbers.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
