Diversion Center

The Center for Diversion and Services is pre-arrest diversion program that will help fill the gaps in resources for justice impacted individuals. Our target population will be individuals living with unmet Mental Health, Substance abuse, and poverty issues. The CDS will be a welcoming place for police to divert individuals that could, otherwise be charged with a low level crime. Staff at the center will engage the guests, assess their needs and help supply appropriate resources for each individual. There is a 40 person "living Room" and a 16 bed Sobering Center. Guest will stay up to 24 hours to receive connections to case management to help meet their unmet needs.

SUMMARY:

The Senior Licensed Mental Health (MH) Clinician provides services to people who experience serious mental illness. This includes assessment, recovery focused treatment planning, group and individual training, and group and individual counseling, as well providing crisis intervention if necessary. May provide clinical quality review of other's work. Provides service coordination and/or linkage to community services that meet the needs of the individual patient/consumer and engages in crisis prevention and management as necessary. May work in the hospital, outpatient clinic, or community settings, including support provided in the home, at work/school, or in shelters.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Counseling or Behavioral Sciences is required.
  • Two (2) years of experience with the SPMI and/or Additive Disease population, preferably in a full-time status, is required.
  • Active Georgia LCSW or LPC license is required. Candidates transferring from another state must obtain Georgia license prior to start date.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Expertise in substance abuse and mental health (SPMI), particularly within justice-involved and homeless/poverty-stricken populations.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system.
  • Proficiency in psychiatric crisis intervention, including 1013 determinations.
  • Trauma-informed approach.
  • Skilled in motivational interviewing.
