SENIOR MAINTENANCE AIDE (SEASONAL) - DIABLO RANGE DISTRICT / ALTAMONT SECTOR / CARNEGIE STATE VEHICULAR RECREATION AREA
Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKS recipient in the comments area on the application. The Senior Maintenance Aide (SMA) reporting location is Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area (SVRA), 18600 Corral Hollow Rd, Tracy. The SMA will work under the direction of the Park Maintenance Chief I and will receive daily direction from the Heavy Equipment Mechanic. A valid Class C driver's license is required.
Working closely with the Heavy Equipment Mechanic, the SMA performs daily inspections, oil changes, tire changes, routine preventative maintenance and various minor repairs on trucks, trailers and light equipment. Documents and refers mechanical failures to the Park Maintenance Chief and Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Completes vehicle logs, service repair requests and vehicle inspection sheets. Administrative duties such as maintaining attendance records and shop inventory. This is an Actual Time Worked (ATW) position working approximately 40 hours per week for a maximum of 189 days in the year. This position may work up to 1500 hours per year/in a 12 consecutive month period. Typical work hours will be Monday-Thursday excluding holidays and will work 10-hour shifts 7 am - 5:30 pm. The SMA will perform duties dressed in full State Park uniform.
