Essential Job Functions

The Senior Manager Business Partner - Finance will work with Finance and Senior Partners to manage all aspects of Revenue operations. The critical area of responsibility is the improvement of the effectiveness and quality of interactions between Partners and the Finance team, with the primary focus being around Revenue related items. This individual will lead the Firm's Senior Revenue Management Analysts who are responsible for the consolidated reporting of the Firm's practices with a focus towards driving actionable insights to improve performance.

Essential Functions: (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)
  • Attorney Focused:
        • Increase Finance Team engagement with Attorneys through deepening personal relationships and building credibility while marketing the capabilities of the Finance team.
        • Drive change management and training initiatives related to Finance priorities and ranging from items such as: providing better Partner reporting through PowerBI dashboards to upgrading our time-entry system to training new Share Partners on matter management.
        • Act as single Finance point-of-contact for Partners and clients on complex issues needing coordination through Finance (e.g. Reporting, pricing, client issues)
        • Work as Finance customer service contact for all Partners. Listen to all issues and assist with remediation.
  • Finance Focused:
  • Develop relationships, credibility, and influence across Finance team that will be necessary for managing Partner requests, successfully.
  • Based on feedback from Attorney's, work with Finance leadership to improve processes and offerings.
  • Work with various teams including Pricing, Billing, Revenue Operations, eBilling, and others, to improve overall quality and effectiveness of output.
  • Train Finance team staff on effective presentation and communication, with a focus on understanding how the business thinks.
  • Drive improvements to the revenue cycle, such as modifying or adding key controls, metrics, or reporting as necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • The Senior Manager Business Partner - Finance will have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in Professional Services organizations.
  • Big 4 Accounting experience, preferred. Experience leading FP&A or Investor Relations teams a plus.
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of the Revenue Cycle.
  • Experience developing and leading teams
  • Established collaboration skills and the ability to communicate with both openness and transparency.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with gravitas and the ability to build a strong rapport with both partners and the Finance team.
  • Desire to provide the highest level of service and willing to jump in on any request and assist; this role will provide a mix of leading and doing.
  • Excellent project management and team leadership skills. Ability to effectively manage reporting and analysis for multiple partners and clients.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

Technologies/Software
  • MS Office with emphasis on Advanced Excel skills and PowerPoint presentation experience; knowledge of SQL a plus
  • General accounting software and database software, with an existing understanding of relational database concepts; knowledge of PowerBI a plus

Compensation:

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary.   • New York City - $175,000 -$225,000
