DHL Express currently has an opening for a Senior Manager of Process Engineering in Miami, Florida. This position will drive quality through efficiency of our processes. The Senior Manager of Process Engineering will plan utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations in our Service Centers, Hubs and Gateway’s throughout the Americas. The role also establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. The Senior Manager of Process Engineering may contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts and also support Operations Manager.

Important: This is an AM Regional Office role based in Miami, FL for Network Operations. A valid US work authorization is required.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Contributes precedent-setting innovations/solutions.
  • Manages innovations from development through implementation.
  • Requires a high level of critical thinking and ingenuity in bringing successful resolution to unusually complex and strategic issues.
  • Negotiates highly complex or risky technical or business issues on behalf of the company.
  • Reaches agreement of strategic importance with others within the organization who have different points of view but a shared objective.
  • Forecasts facility, vehicle, staffing and/or material handling equipment needs in order to improve cost, utilization, service, and efficiencies.
  • Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. Will contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts as required.
  • Conducts studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow by analyzing production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules.
  • Recommends methods for maximizing the utilization of production facilities and personnel by restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchasing equipment in adherence with governmental, health, safety, and other regulations.
  • Prepares cost estimates for proposed projects and evaluates cost factors; recommends changes in each Service Center/Gateway/Hub pertaining to cost control, as well as time and motion, work standards, work methods, personnel utilization, service, and quality.
  • Coordinates routing system changes with airline, hub and ground network in order to optimize service cost.
  • Monitors and evaluates each Service Center's progress in managing service and cost.
  • Performs evaluations of 3rd party contracts and evaluates courier route design and efficiency.
  • Assumes project management responsibilities as necessary.
  • Works in conjunction with the Senior Industrial Engineers for AM supporting programs, policies, and procedures.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Recognized subject matter expert.
  • Serves as prime consultant on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities and long-range goals and objectives.
  • BS/BA in any engineering discipline and 10-15 years of increasingly diverse or complex applications in field of expertise or MS/MA and generally at least 8-12 years of experience in related field.
  • Demonstrated experience driving process improvements and implementing projects.
  • Mastery of existing and emerging technologies, processes, and practices.
  • Develops new applications based on professional principles and theories.
  • Professional certification required in some areas.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is highly recommended.
