How will you make an impact in this role?

The Strategic Partnerships team is charged with leveraging the Company's largest, most strategic partnerships to bring innovation and additional value to American Express' suite of products, services, capabilities, and experiences that engage customers and drive generational relevance of American Express Membership.

The Senior Manager, Sports & Entertainment Partnerships is a key role in the new Sports & Entertainment Partnerships Team - specifically partnering across the Amex enterprise to bring strategic planning, relationship and negotiating expertise to key sports and entertainment partners including Formula 1 and NBA, and partnering with a cross-Enterprise team to develop destination market strategies, enhancing our brand presence in priority cities. This role reports into the Director, Strategic Partnerships: Sports and Entertainment.

This individual will play an integral role in defining and developing unique new partnership opportunities to support our enterprise objectives of growth and innovation and to work cross-functionally (including with market leaders) to align the interests across the Company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Global Sponsorships and other Enterprise teams to define annual partner strategies and deliver on enterprise priorities across identified entertainment properties
  • Support development of strategic plans that focus on growth and innovation through partnerships
  • Collaborate with Global Sponsorships and other Enterprise teams to identify and cultivate new business opportunities that deliver differentiated value
  • Build, expand and elevate relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers at partner organizations to deliver on objectives
  • Support on partner negotiation strategies, and finalizing agreements
  • Partner with enterprise team in developing the framework, strategy, approach and implementation for destination market strategies
  • Support Director and VP in preparation for partner or Amex executive meetings and events


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strategic thought leadership with focus on identifying opportunities, navigating highly matrix organization, implementing plans and issues resolution
  • Proficient in building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners, and building followership
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and executive presence
  • Strong collaboration and influence management skills with internal and external partners
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to progress work autonomously, but also collaborate and partner to achieve results
  • Adaptability and curiosity to work with ambiguity in dynamic situations and high paced environment
  • Skilled in prioritization and project management
  • Experience in sports/entertainment partnerships, business development, strategy, partnership management preferred


Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
