How You'll Perform the Role


The Senior Manager, Supply Chain provides proactive leadership and strategic direction related to the planning, implementing, and monitoring of materials and overall supply chain strategy to maximize efficiency and productivity, while optimizing working capital in materials inventory. Cross functional collaboration with key internal stakeholders is critical to implement and improve business processes and drive profitability.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with plant schedulers, supply chain planning and execution functions, and corporate sourcing team to manage duties related to raw material planning and inbound logistics to ensure right materials are available at the right production site at the right time to satisfy the supply chain strategy.
  • Responsible for driving supplier performance, process and service improvements, and productivity improvements throughout the supply chain.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align procurement, materials planning and warehouse activities according to sales and production forecasts.
  • Effectively work with direct team members to have proper controls in place to ensure accountability for their goals & objectives and to prevent decision making bottlenecks.
  • Focus on a collaborative approach to find the root cause and develop solutions to streamline processes and eliminate inefficiency.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal & external stakeholders such as plant leadership, demand & supply planning team, corporate sourcing, suppliers etc. Develop and execute a material planning strategy to meet the company's business growth, cost savings initiatives, and sourcing requirements.
  • Foster and promote innovative solutions that drive cost reduction and continuous improvement of the supply chain process.
  • Develop and manage effective relationships with existing suppliers of goods and services to meet the established cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Maintain appropriate quantity of supplies and materials that support optimized production runs and safety stock while minimizing inventory on hand.
  • Establish, maintain, and drive improvement activities for all supply related KPI's, to include inventory levels, production schedule attainment, purchase order management, supplier and customer service levels and others as needed.
  • Coach, mentor, and support the direct team on best practices in vendor management, cost reductions, and end to end supply chain knowledge.


What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or operations management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years' experience in a supply chain or operations related field.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably CMS, IFS and Cedar Bay.
  • Manufacturing background, preferably manufacturing of plastic products intended as packaging for food items.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate with all areas of the business.
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
