The engineer will use their technical and leadership skills to advance the development and manufacturing of innovative products. As an engaging leader and problem solver, he/she will be involved with the daily production work activities and proactively identify and solve technical, logistical, and people challenges.

Description of Work

Manage the daily activities of a manufacturing team in areas of product development, process development, test method development, manufacturing efficiencies, facility maintenance, and equipment development/setup/maintenance. Develop a deep understanding of product and learn about design specifications, product system function, and quality systems. Design, build, test, product/equipment to support a manufacturing/production team- supervisors, engineers, technicians, and assemblers. Work with a cross-functional team of experts in R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Clinical.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering- Mechanical, Material, Biomedical, Industrial, or equivalent
  • 4+ years relevant experience in materials, development, manufacturing, testing and equipment of medical devices, including equipment installation and qualification
  • 4+ years of experience with equipment, fixturing, design control, and document control
  • Responsible for device equipment fabrication and qualification- such as bonders, laser welders, machine shop equipment, molders, laminators, tensile testers, fatigue testers, etc.
  • Responsible for new process development with associated build, test, and documentation
  • Responsible for new manufacturing line support to keep process equipment fully functional


• Support other projects- clinical support, simulation models, new IP, etc.

  • Facility and CER maintenance - HEPA, HVAC, electrical, and gas lines
  • Support compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and training related to EHS/OSHA, etc.
  • Development of policies, practices, and procedures for problem identification and resolution


• Knowledge of materials, specifically nitinol, and nitinol processing, characterization, and testing

• Experience with CAD: SolidWorks, AutoCad or equivalent

  • Problem-solving and preventative skills- root cause analysis, failure mode analysis
  • Foresight to anticipate potential issues before they occur


• Flexible and adaptable - comfortable working in a dynamic environment

• Clear communication- written, verbal and visual

• Excellent attention-to-detail and takes ownership of assigned responsibilities

• Focus that the Company's products are of the highest level of quality and reliability; creating outputs that document the continual product and quality improvements.

Anticipated pay ranges from $89,000 - $140,185 annually.

About Laminar

Laminar is a clinical stage medical device company advancing transseptal left atrial appendage (LAA) closure. The LAA is a small pouch in the left atrium of the heart that is a major contributor to thromboembolic stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. It has developmental, ultra-structural, and physiological characteristics distinct from the left atrium proper. Growing incidence of atrial fibrillation and medical device developments have rapidly expanded the market.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
