Position: Senior Phosphate Fertilizer Process Engineer

Worksite: 3149 Winter Lake Rd, Lakeland, FL 33803, United States

Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts to design phosphate fertilizer plants and debottleneck existing plants. Work independently at an advanced level completing a wide variety of assignments from basic engineering, detailed engineering, through facility startup, applying advanced engineering theories, techniques, and practices in the phosphate fertilizer industry. Lead research and development along with testing activities at company's full-service pilot plant laboratory to derive design parameters for licensed technologies in phosphate fertilizer plants. Lead the design and setup of phosphoric acid and NPK/DAP/MAP/TSP Fertilizer Granulation plants including new and revamped units. Formulate process technology improvements and develop new design concepts and techniques. Visualize, evaluate, and modify projects from client and licensor perspectives, applying know-how in the production, formulation, troubleshooting, bottleneck solving, and efficient steady state operation of NPK/DAP fertilizer industrial plants. Drive the commission, pre-commission, start-up, and shutdown of granulation, phosphoric acid, and sulfuric acid plants. Manage and participate in Interlocks, DCS, HSE standards, work permits, HAZOP, and root-cause analysis. Produce engineering package for phosphoric acid plants, conduct pilot plant studies and determine the best operating conditions for processing from various sources. Provide advisory services including facility startup, performance testing. Prepare complete phosphoric acid reactor design and assist with development of the construction drawings, providing review and approval of key documents and equipment selection. Responsible for R&D projects, including but not limited to phosphoric acid evaluation, deamidation, FSA valorization, purified phosphoric acid, and fertilizer granulation studies.

Minimum

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and 15 years of progressive experience as a Process Engineer in the phosphate fertilizer industry, including experience in engineering, production, formulation, laboratory, bench, and pilot plant scale testing, troubleshooting, research and development, debottlenecking, and equipment design, operation experience such as Startup, efficient steady state operation and shutdown of phosphate fertilizer industrial plants.

Requirements: Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and 12 years of experience as a Process Engineer in the phosphate fertilizer industry, including experience in engineering, production, formulation, laboratory, bench, and pilot plant scale testing, troubleshooting, research and development, debottlenecking, and equipment design, operation experience such as Startup, efficient steady state operation and shutdown of phosphate fertilizer industrial plants.

Special Requirements: Must pass technical Interview.
