Purpose and Scope
This position supports plant wide projectsof continuous improvement, process improvement, process development, manufacturing cost reduction, and addition of new equipment. The Engineers provide leadership and technical direction to maintenance, contractors, and manufacturing employees.
Responsibilities
Utilize engineering principles and techniques to design, specify, document, and implement specialized process equipment, components, tooling, etc. Work as a member of a team to implement continuous improvement ideas, and large scale projects. Manage projects, or portions of projects, such as changes to equipment layouts, process improvements, process development, and new product launches; insuring projects are completed on-time and within budget. Support Maintenance and Production areas with technical expertise to correct daily problems affecting production.
Requirements:
Technical/Functional Skills
Demonstrated ability to work in 2D and 3D CAD drawing/modeling packages
Demonstrated working knowledge of Drafting Standards,Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing,Machining Practices,Material Properties,Heat Treatment,Lean,Safety & Quality Standards and/or Regulations
Mechanical Intuition / Problem Solving Skills
Good Technical Writing and Communication Skills
Project Management Skills
MS Office
Machine shop and/or manufacturing experience preferred
CNC programming experience preferred
Education
BSME/BSMET or related Engineering Degree
