Job Summary/Basic Function
This is a four-year grant funded benefited position. The individual hired to serve as project coordinator will be working through MTSU Center for Health and Human Services, the grantee, and paid with funds available through a federal grant with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The project coordinator will facilitate the coordination of specific activities outlined in the timeline included in the project scope of services document which support creation of a culture of mental health awareness on the MTSU campus. This is achieved through a comprehensive strategy which includes provision of mental health awareness training programs throughout the year, and to engage other campuses in a similar manner.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree required. A master's degree and experience equivalent to two years of full-time work in a health or social services related field preferred.
Required Related Experience
Require at least two (2) years of program coordination and implementation.
Desirable Related Experience
Prefer mental health related program coordination and implementation. Prefer at least one (1) year of experience of any type of grant-funded work or grant administration.
Desirable License/Registration/Certification
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES or MCHES), social work certification preferred; experience may substitute for certification. Certification in Mental Health First Aid and/or QPR are desirable.
