What You'll Do: As a Sr. Project Engineer, you'll play the role of a chief engineer on the project. You'll work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to manage all construction processes to reach the goals set for the project. Duties will typically include, but are not limited to, scheduling, purchasing, submittal review, preplanning, safety, production management, assistant project management, and project closeout.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures implementation of Bowen SQP process
  • Understands and mentors/supports Field Engineer and Project Engineer duties
  • Develops preplanning agenda and facilitates project preplanning activities
  • Conducts estimating turnover meeting and activities, including validation of bid profit
  • Determine General Conditions requirements per contract and project team needs
  • Conducts Safety and Quality preplanning sessions with respective corporate departments
  • Ensures project's high-risk activities are preplanned to meet Bowen and Owner requirements
  • Develops the construction schedule using a CPM program, including engineering, procurement, and construction activities, utilizing Manpower/Equipment-loaded activities for tracking Performance Curves
  • Prepares detailed project schedule of values and preliminary cash flow schedules
  • Assists in purchasing of technical process-driven equipment and Design Assistance subcontractor procurement
  • Determine appropriate heavy equipment and sizing for self-perform capabilities
  • Develops and manages engineered lift plans and ensures compliance with Owner-driven critical lift requirements
  • Recognizes change conditions with respect to the contract and provides legal notifications to appropriate parties including Owner/Engineers and Subcontractors/Vendors
  • Assists in change order management including determining proposed change order costs, submission of change request, and processing of approved owner change orders
  • Understanding of contract management as it pertains to Bowen subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Manages accounts payables process including invoice approvals
  • Monitors accounts receivables and cash flow position of project
  • Ensures all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings and specifications;
  • Manages project Progress Meetings and maintain Action Item List

Must-haves in a Candidate:
  • 4 year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience
  • 5+ years of construction management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • In depth understanding of cost analysis

Nice to Haves in a Candidate:
  • Experience working with self-perform construction operations
  • Experience with advanced scheduling techniques
  • Knowledge of value engineering principles
  • Familiarity with construction safety standards and procedures
