Our Technology team has 6 different departments: Information Security, Service Delivery, Business Enabling Systems, eCommerce & Marketing Technology, Data and Stores, Services & Supply Chain.

Whether it's online or in our stores, the work that the IT team does is instrumental in PetSmart's success. We have a strategic and actionable plan underway and are looking for associates who are just as excited about it as we are.



About the Location

Hybrid Position:

This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart's FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Scrum Master to join our dynamic team. The Scrum Master will be responsible for ensuring timely deliverables, implementing agile processes effectively, fostering a productive and positive work environment, and facilitating continuous improvement.

KEY ROLE & RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Product Teams on Agile principles, including coaching on maintaining a strong team backlog, clear acceptance criteria and ensuring coding and QA standards are followed
  • Lead Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning, Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives)
  • Embrace and uphold the agile mindset and be comfortable with adapting, ensuring the teams remain focused and productive
  • Contribute across different functions, as needed, to support teams' objectives
  • Proactively identify and resolve roadblocks, conflicts, and impediments
  • Manage projects and features within defined scope and timelines to align with business needs
  • Uphold quality standards to ensure deliverables exceed expectations
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, helping the teams implement changes to consistently surpass previous benchmarks
  • Monitor and report on key metrics to gauge and improve on teams' performance and productivity while upholding quality standards
  • Foster collaboration, self-organization, and accountability within the teams
  • Demonstrate Servant leadership by prioritizing the teams' needs


QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPENTENCIES

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile certification
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled in supporting multiple Agile teams
  • Ability to lead, mentor and motivate team members
  • Proficient in project management discipline and tools; Microsoft Office, Jira, Confluence, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to think creatively and navigate complex challenges
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
