Job Summary
Marketing Strategy Development:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to increase awareness of Career Center services and programs.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.


Social Media Management:
  • Create, curate, and manage engaging content across various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Monitor social media channels for trends and engagement opportunities.
  • Respond to inquiries and engage with the online community.
Website Management:
  • Regularly update the Career Center's website with relevant content and resources.
  • Ensure the website is user-friendly and aligns with the latest web design and accessibility standards.
Content Creation:
  • Design and produce marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, newsletters, and videos.
  • Write compelling and informative descriptions/captions
Brand Management:
  • Ensure all marketing materials and communications are consistent with the Career Center's brand and messaging.
  • Ensure marketing content is cohesive with university brand standards.
Innovation and Trends:
  • Stay current with marketing and social media trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Implement new and creative ways to reach and engage with students, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders.
Support and Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Career Center staff to understand their needs and support their initiatives. Will also collaborate with Student Affairs marketing team.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related discipline. Two years of related business experience in social media development, implementation, marketing and managing the strategy; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, web content management, and digital marketing tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring student workers or interns.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of career services and higher education is a plus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Social Media and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing strategies to promote the University Career Center's brand, services and programs. This role involves creating engaging social media and marketing content, managing the Center's website, and ensuring the consistent promotion and representation of our brand. The ideal candidate will be innovative, strategic, and have a deep understanding of the role of career centers in higher education.

Remote Notice: After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. May be required to use personal computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
