Job Summary

The Department of Information Resources, Client Services is looking to hire a Software Systems Supervisor. The position supports the campus and embedded IT team with projects, serve as a technical resource, and works alongside other teams to improve desktop operations. Additionally, this position assists managers with managing teams.

Education and Experience

Minimum Requirements
  • High school graduation supplemented by successful completion of vocational training in computer programming.
  • Eight (8) years computer operation and programming experience, including at least one (1) year as Software Systems Specialist III or equivalent.
Job Duties
  • Serves as technical expert for operating environment in traditional areas of system programming and involvement in systems planning.
  • Exercises overall responsibility for technical aspects of software systems programming, performance training, and capacity planning.
  • Assesses relationships of two or more separate systems, ensuring that back-up capabilities are feasible at level agreed upon.
  • Conducts studies for projected enhancements in hardware and software and presents recommendations to management.
  • Directs systems software personnel of lower grade.
  • Participates in formulation and implementation of installation standards and procedures.
  • Presents technical briefings. Attends professional conferences.
  • Serves as Manager, Software Systems Programming in latter's absence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
