The primary purpose of this position is to analyze and assemble project cost data at the conclusion of a project, for the purpose of processing Completion Reports at project close out. This role supports Kinder Morgan's Products West Coast assets. Primary activities include the gathering of necessary project cost documents to identify applicable material and installation costs for each Completion Report.

The Project Management Specialist will ensure that each project Completion report includes back up material and inventory cost records to meet the requirements of Kinder Morgan's Products Accounting and Regulatory departments.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Work with the Project Controls Cost Analysts and Project Managers to assemble final project cost information data in a timely manner at project end.

• Ability to read a project AFE and to understand the scope of work at the Property Unit level to ensure material and installation costs are properly accounted for at project close out.

• Ability to communicate clearly with the cost analysts and project managers regarding documents needed for the Completion Reports. Ability to be proactive to reach out to these groups to ensure AFEs are being reviewed in a timely manner for closure.

• Collect invoice, AFE and project costing information from the Lawson PSA system.

• Assemble all supporting documentation needed for proper Completion Report submittal to Kinder Morgan's Accounting department.

• Position also entails the monthly update of the Incremental Database based on monthly reports provided by the accounting department for projects that have approved Completion Reports in the system and are now closed by Accounting.

• Meet deadlines and ensure project Completion Reports and monthly regulatory reporting are completed in a timely manner to ensure that Kinder Morgan is in compliance with SOX controls, Accounting and Regulatory record keeping requirements.

• Distribute finished Completion Reports to the Accounting department for approval and final AFE close out.

• Maintain an assignment database to document incoming Completion Report requests. This database is updated based on progress during each Completion Report task.

• Attend meetings with Accounting and Regulatory groups as required.

• Other job requirements include completion of LMS Training modules during the year; attending monthly staff meetings; being aware of email phishing scams and understanding and complying with Kinder Morgan's anti-phishing policies.

Position Requirements

Minimum requirements:

Education:

• Minimum of an Associate degree with emphasis in Business or Accounting.

• Applicable work experience in lieu of degree.

Experience / Specific Knowledge:

• 3-5 years' experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with a strong knowledge of project cost reporting.

• Organized and able to multi-task.

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Competencies, skills, and abilities:

• Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Well-balanced interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communications skills are required.

• Must be accountable and take direction from Management; keep required work schedules; focus attention on details; follow work rules.

• Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.

• Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions to various problems.

• Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and/or direction.

• Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

Working Conditions:

• Majority of the work will be conducted from an office environment.

• Availability to travel to multiple sites throughout the United States. Travel will be limited and on an exception basis.

Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:

Above the minimum requirement; not required but advantageous in this position:

• 4-year College graduate preferred, but not required.

• Experience with Excel Pivot tables and VLookup.
