Sr. Applications/Infrastructure Support Engineer

Summary of job duties

• Provide 3rd/4th level on-call service/application/infrastructure support in a 7x24 hour production environment. Perform advanced trouble-shooting/diagnostics for problem determination and recovery in such environments
• Perform systems and network administration tasks in development, staging and production environments hosting enterprise grade server and network hardware and software. Install, configure, and maintain platform code and related software in these environments
• Design and specification of network/platform/infrastructure requirements to support applications

Required Skills

• 3+ years of good systems administration experience on Linux (RHEL) or similar platforms.
• Solid understanding of and experience in Enterprise/Web Technologies, including Java, JBoss, Apache, Web Services (SOAP, REST), J2EE/JMS, frameworks, etc. and relevant enterprise hosting infrastructures
• Good understanding of network/web/cloud protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/SSL, HTML, XML, virtualization, AWS, etc.
• 3+ years of enterprise-grade production infrastructure/applications support experience
• Hands-on scripting experience on Unix/Linux platforms
• Experience of Load balancing for HTTP, HTTPS (including SSL offload), and TCP services
• Effective communication and documentation skills in English
• Experience in issue tracking/management processes/tools
• Positive Attitude with ability to work individually and in a team

Desired Skills

• Experience with Java language
• Experience in application stress/performance testing, load generation, measurements, processes and relevant tools
• Experience of NAS/NFS and SAN storage technologies
• Experience with source code management using CVS or Subversion, build/release/unit-test with Ant, Maven, Hudson/Jenkins, JUnit
