The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical control integrity and functionality of all manufacturing equipment used in the production of writing instruments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
REQUIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Requirements also include a working knowledge of machine design, AC/DC motor controls, AC/DC servo systems, and a familiarity with NFPA'79.
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs and human machine interfaces
• Knowledge of Omron PLCs, and human machine interfaces are considered a plus.
• Candidate must possess good written and verbal communication skills in addition to strong organizational and planning skills.
• Candidate must also be a self-starter and team oriented player with a strong self-initiative, able to work with minimal supervision and take a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Working knowledge of Python, C++ and Networking
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• 4 Year Degree in Engineering, with 5+ years hands-on experience, in design of programming, implementing, and troubleshooting PLC based controls platforms on high-speed assembly equipment.
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical control integrity and functionality of all manufacturing equipment used in the production of writing instruments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design electrical control systems for automated assembly and packaging equipment per OSHA standards and NFPA '79 guidelines.
- Write programs for programmable logic controllers.
- Understand, annotate, and modify existing PLC programs while having limited supporting documentation.
- Troubleshooting robotics systems and applications
- Specify and program A/C servo systems
- Electrically evaluate safety measures on new and existing processes
- Approve electrical designs on all new equipment
- Design, setup, and program human machine interfaces
- Integrate new levels of automation into existing processes
- Collaborate with Engineers and Technicians to design and apply new system processes
- Drive standardization of electrical components in all manufacturing processes
- Optimize machine performance electrically to maximize overall equipment effectiveness
- Design and implement control enhancements to maximize product quality
- Assist the maintenance staff in diagnosing problems with manufacturing equipment and implementing solutions
- Train maintenance technicians to upgrade their electrical knowledge skill set
