In this role, you will serve as the technical lead for manufacturing engineering, focusing on the production of naval electronics. Your primary responsibilities will include developing and optimizing manufacturing processes to meet customer quality requirements, driving continuous improvement, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).

- Process Development & Optimization:
- Develop and refine production operations within the manufacturing execution system to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Identify and support the acquisition of necessary tooling to meet production goals and improve operational performance.
- Analyze production data to resolve issues, support evidence-based decision-making, and optimize processes.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Optimize floor layouts based on business forecasts to enhance workflow and space utilization.
- Collaborate with the engineering department to achieve design for manufacturing (DFM) targets and ensure alignment with production capabilities.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Lead lean and Kaizen events, implementing continuous improvement initiatives at the site level on an ongoing basis.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and training to develop their on-the-job skills and expertise.
- Leadership & Guidance:
- Utilize sound judgment to address production-related situations and provide general guidance on new assignments.
- Support, communicate, and reinforce the organization's mission, values, and culture.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in an applicable engineering field with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
- Expertise in areas such as manufacturing, production, industrial engineering, tooling, testing, processing, software, robotics, and automation.
- Experience with lean implementation in a manufacturing environment; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
- Familiarity with the following systems is preferred:
- ERP Systems (e.g., Deltek/Costpoint 8)
- MES (e.g., Solumina)
- PLM (e.g., Empower, Arena)
- 3-D Modeling (e.g., Creo)
- Security Clearance:
- Must be a U.S. citizen and meet clients security standards as imposed by the Department of Defense (DoD), including the ability to obtain any necessary security clearances from the U.S. government within a reasonable time after starting employment.
