This Senior Safety Specialist position will support our Houston Electric organization, by working closely with front line employees, leadership and other members of the Safety and Training organization. This position will provide safety support by participating in field observations, safety committees, safety meetings, incident investigations and learning events, implementing Safety and Health programs, providing safety guidance to employees, establishing relationships with coworkers, company personnel and industry peers, and by providing excellent customer service to the Houston Electric organization.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in Safety or related technical field (e.g., Industrial Engineering (Safety), Science, Business or Behavioral Sciences)
5+ years of experience in Electric Utilities or Power Generation
Proficient in Electric Safety standards and requirements
Experience working for an owner/operator
Experience writing and implementing safety programs/policies
Experience interpreting Electric standards and regulations

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering
Valid certification as a: CSP, ASP, CUSP, OHST, or CHST
Master's degree in Safety
