Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking an experience Software Quality Engineer to work in our Lynchburg, VA site. The Software Quality Engineer with focus on testing for mission critical VIDA Infrastructure Communications and Portable/Mobile radios used to support first responders and military personnel on evolving LMR/LTE/WIFI/IOT and Hybrid Communication Architectures

Essential Functions:

Areas of responsibility will include:
  • Be a key member of an agile scrum with a focus on system test of land mobile radio's
  • Lead and Perform requirements analysis, test analysis, and software & hardware testing of complex test systems
  • Work closely with feature architects, automation architects, test leads, and feature owners to ensure product quality
  • Drive automated feature and regression testing on new software and hardware for infrastructure and portable and mobile radios.
  • Create, execute and evaluate both manual and automation test plans as required for new features and regression testing
  • Contribute to evolution of automation platforms and strategies with an eye towards improvements in accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Create, maintain, support, and present test and engineering related work products to senior leadership
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching and training to other employees


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.


Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Senior professional with strong knowledge of P25 and LTE communication protocols and systems
  • Experience with project management including managing multiple projects executing concurrently and balancing priorities
  • Communicates effectively, both written and orally
  • Must be able to complete assignments independently and in a team environment
  • Individual must be a team player in helping to complete overall team goals
  • Individual must be receptive to change and able to give and receive feedback
  • Work with system architects and development and other cross-functional teams to ensure effective and timely software system integration and verification
  • Collaborate with project and technical resources to ensure that the strategy, planning and delivery approach achieves the desired results
  • Solid Automated Test Development Experience with programming languages or programs such as C, C++, C#, LabVIEW, TestComplete, TestStand desired
  • Knowledge of P25 and LTE communication protocols and systems
  • Experience with USB, Ethernet, WiFi and Personal Area Network protocols
  • Scaled Agile Framework (Safe 6.0)
  • HP Quality Center (HPQC), ClearQuest, DOORS
  • Experience with RF and Networking test techniques
  • Evaluation and Selection of Automation Hardware, Test Equipment, National Instruments Hardware
  • SmartBear TestComplete
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Engineering
