Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support and enhance our diverse technology infrastructure. You'll play a key role in managing, optimizing, and troubleshooting critical systems, including our on-premises and cloud-based services. This is an opportunity to leverage your technical expertise, provide expert support to users and leadership, provide mentorship and escalation support to the team, and ensure the smooth operation of our technology backbone for our 1100-person organization.

Responsibilities

Systems Management & Optimization
• Manage and optimize the performance, availability, and security of our critical systems.
• Collaborate with the infrastructure team to implement system improvements and upgrades.
• Provide tier-3 support and troubleshooting for escalated issues.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including architecture diagrams and runbooks.

Expert Support & Mentorship
• Provide expert-level technical support and guidance to users and the leadership team.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and adherence to best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure timely response to critical system issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align system capabilities with business requirements.

Must-Have Technical Expertise (Senior-Level)
• Microsoft Cloud Identity and Device Management: Extensive experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, and Windows Autopilot.
• Windows Server: In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, IIS, and Remote Desktop Services.
• Microsoft Collaboration & Communication: Proficiency with Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
• Telephony Systems: Proficiency in Asterisk-based PBX administration and optimization.
• Network Infrastructure: Strong Cisco/Cisco Meraki and HP network expertise (firewalls, switches, wireless).
• Virtualization: Extensive experience with VMware ESXi and Hyper-V.
• Linux Server: Familiarity with Apache web servers, Squid web proxy, and LTSP.
• Database: Experience with SQL Server administration and optimization.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Understanding of on-premises backup solutions and practices.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or a similar role.
• Proven experience in managing and optimizing diverse, business-critical systems.
• Microsoft 365 Engineer/Administrator certifications (preferred).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentorship abilities.
