Title: Sr. Systems Engineer (Merchandising)

Duties: The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for joining a development team and contributing to the software design, software development, and overall development lifecycle. The engineering process is highly collaborative. On a daily basis, you are expected to work through user stories and support systems as they evolve. In addition, you may be involved in system configuration, performance tuning and testing as well as production monitoring. Collaborate with other team members to create secure, a reliable and scalable software solutions. Create meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and responses to ensure that issues are captured and addressed proactively. Proactively review the performance and capacity of all aspects of production such as code, infrastructure, data, and message processing. Participate in learning activities around modern software design and development core practice.

Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's degree in MIS, Information Technology, or related and 8 years of development experience, including:
• Java
• Writing SQL queries against a relational database and data modeling in addition to Query optimization and troubleshooting
• Version control systems including Git
• Production systems design including High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Performance, Efficiency, and Security
• At least 5 years of the following:
• Technical lead or mentorship experience
• Development and support experience in a national retail environment
• Spring MVC, NoSQL, CI/CD toolchain including Jenkins,
• Cloud computing platform and associated automation patterns
• Modern microservice-based architecture and methodologies, 12-factor methodology, REST and web service design
