Who We Are:

Our team has expertise in organic sample preparation and analysis by GC, GC/MS, HRMS, HPLC and LC/MS.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Provide sample preparation and analytical support for the Analytical and Environmental Chemistry department.
  • Perform organic extractions under a variety of regulated programs and a variety of sample matrices.
  • Must have good attention to detail and maintain complete laboratory records.
  • Be able to schedule tasks to meet a number of concurrent projects.
  • Must communicate well with lab supervisor and project managers to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Must be able to provide training to others once procedures are mastered.
  • Assist the laboratory supervisor with administrative tasks.
  • Opportunities to learn analytical instrumentation.


Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Use of analytical balances and various volumetric measurement glassware to include graduated cylinders, pipettes, syringes.
  • Glassware washing.
  • Preparation techniques requiring physical activity, i.e. extraction by separatory funnel, Soxhlet, CLLE, Sonication.
  • Record keeping of laboratory procedures in electronic notebooks and LIMS


Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some college chemistry is preferred.
  • 5-10 years: Experience in a lab environment.
  • Familiarity with environmental test methods.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
