Description
This full-time position for a Staff Research Associate I in the Department of Neurosurgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine will entail being responsible for assisting with clinical trials and laboratory research. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: analyze multiplex immunofluorescence data, processing clinical biological samples such as blood and tumor, maintain experiment records, cataloguing sample inventory, as well as retrieving, transporting, and shipping biological samples. Other necessary responsibilities include being responsible for laboratory maintenance: this includes the disposal of chemical and biohazardous waste, autoclaving and cleaning of lab equipment and supplies, ordering and maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies, and ensuring the lab space abides by institutional safety standards. Must be able to follow standard operating procedures and work collaboratively with others. Prefer minimum of bachelor's degree in life sciences and 1 year of laboratory experience. Administrative work will be required, including maintenance of records and laboratory maintenance. Candidate will follow all laboratory safety practices, train volunteers and assist with coordinating the enrollment of patients with the Human Gene and Cell Therapy facility. Pay Range: $25.75 - $30.71 Hourly
