Position Summary

The collaborative research in Bild and Nath labs focuses on translational cancer systems biology. The overarching goal of our labs is to develop and validate effective treatment strategies against drug resistant tumors. We are seeking a talented and motivated Bioinformatics Staff Scientist to join our dynamic team. As a Bioinformatics Staff Scientist, you will play a key role in analyzing and interpreting complex biological data, integrating multi-omics datasets, and developing innovative computational methods to extract meaningful insights. Your work will contribute to advancing our understanding of diseases, identifying potential therapeutic targets, and facilitating the development of personalized medicine approaches.

Responsibilities:

• Perform bioinformatics analysis on high-throughput genomic and transcriptomic data.

• Develop and apply computational algorithms and statistical models for data analysis and interpretation.

• Integrate and analyze multi-omics datasets to identify patterns, correlations, and potential biomarkers.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including biologists, mathematicians, and medical oncologists to design and execute bioinformatics projects.

• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in bioinformatics and genomics research.

• Contribute to the development of data analysis pipelines and software tools.

• Present findings and results to internal teams and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

• Publish research outcomes in scientific journals and present at conferences.



Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, or a related field.

• Strong expertise in analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and/or Perl.

• Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., NCBI GEO, Ensembl, UCSC Genome Browser).

• Knowledge of statistical methods and data mining techniques for large-scale genomics data analysis.

• Familiarity with machine learning (AI/ML) algorithms and their applications in bioinformatics.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data and concepts effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data analysis.

• Knowledge of cancer genomics and oncology research.

• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and big data analysis frameworks.

• Demonstrated track record of publications in reputable scientific journals.
