CalPERS is seeking to fill two Staff Services Manager I positions in the Member Account Management Division (MAMD), Service Credit Purchase & Elections (SCPE) Section. Please see below of the descriptions on the two sections:

Account Maintenance Section:

The Account Maintenance section maintains service credit purchase receivables through the completion of payments.

The Staff Services Manager I is responsible for managing one team within the Account Maintenance area and perform the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, manage, and direct activities of an Account Maintenance team including maintaining service credit purchase receivables, projects, and collaborative efforts within our teams, section, and other areas within the organization.
  • Monitor workload and projects to meet deadlines; review and prepare reports and metrics to report on service levels and team member performance to ensure timely completion of workload.
  • Provide direction and guidance regarding personnel matters and performance management.
  • Participate and collaborate on the division annual plan and vision for the future.
  • Monitor timely completion of team member probation reports and annual appraisals.
Costing and Elections Section:

The Costing & Elections Section assists eligible participants with requests and elections for purchasing service credit.

The Staff Services Manager I will perform the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Plans, organizes, and manages the day-to-day operations of the Costing & Elections Unit including personnel management, project management, and business priorities.
  • Provides guidance and helps resolve complex Costing & Election inquiries.
  • Monitors workload in the unit to ensure production standards and service levels are met.
  • Collaborates with peer leaders to develop and maintain process efficiencies.
