Position: Staff Software Engineer
Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments and use this in designing the software solution. Work with a team of software developers and provide technical leadership to ensure timely and efficient delivery, set standards and best practices. Participate in the software design and architecture and ensure software quality. Partner with Technology Solution Leads, business partners, and product owners to analyze business problems and requirements and produce optimal software solutions. Work on cloud architecture and deployments using cloud technology, including Azure Offerings, Google cloud, Cloud storage, Cloud security, Cloud migration. Build complex logical and conceptual models and provide guidance to team on physical data models. Build high volume, scalable, reliable, and reusable software components in realistic timelines, adhering to development goals and principles. Assist in developing Wal-Mart's multi-CDN strategy to build fast resilient routing to backend services in multi-cloud environment. Design Queueing solution using CDN technologies and guide developers on building build robust and scalable solutions. Identify opportunities for process and technology improvements, lead code reviews, and work with engineers to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 6 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 3 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.
Skills required: Experience designing and implementing solutions using Content Delivery Networks (CDN) technologies. Demonstrated knowledge of web related technologies including CDN, Caching and protocols as well as HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, and TLS. Experience with software development using Python, Go, or JavaScript. Experience with software design and architecture. Experience with CDN best practices and Web performance KPIs. Experience designing Queueing solution using CDN technologies. Experience partnering with different stake holders and product owners to analyze business problems and requirements for an optimal solution. Experience with code reviews and promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Experience with distributed applications environment. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $150,762/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
