Advising and Counseling
Directly responsible for planning and execution of all UFCD-sponsored D3 and D4 events including;
Expected Salary:
$50,000 Annually

Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with professional or graduate students; experience in event management and program development; crisis response training; knowledge of student organization management

Advising and Counseling
- Serve as a student advocate, guiding and supporting predoctoral students in resolving educational and personal barriers toward academic success.
- Provide short-term counseling to pre-doctoral students with issues related to academic, conduct or personal difficulties, and refer students to appropriate campus resources for intervention, when appropriate.
- Conduct follow-up meetings with students to determine if their needs have been met.
- Provide crisis intervention when needed.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to assist with addressing student concerns.
- Create and develop new policies, programs, and initiatives to support student success
- Coordinate with Office of Development and Alumni Affairs to facilitate scholarship awards process for DMD students
- Manage Senior Awards for the Senior Awards Banquet
- Support the D1/D2 Student Affairs Program Coordinator in:

- Developing plan and schedule for Student Leadership Meetings, coordinate meetings
- Promoting officer leadership development through the following
- Serve as an advisor, guiding and supporting students in resolving leadership concerns
- Coordinate meetings (planned and as necessary to assist in planning events, resolving issues, etc)

- Attend D3 & D4 Town Halls, class meetings (upon request) and record minutes and coordinate with Assoc. Deans of SAI and OAA in reviewing and providing actions/responses for meeting discussions
- Keep informed of UF policies and procedures regarding student organizations and work with Student Activities & Involvement to advocate for UFCD students in policy implementation and creation
- Guide student organization leadership through the annual UF Student Activities & Involvement registration process
- Ensure all UFCD-affiliated student organizations are in compliance with UF policies
- Manage student involvement supply and travel fund applications
- Provide student organization leadership information on resources available through main campus issues
- Guide, advise, and support students looking to create new student organizations
- Work with the D1/D2 Student Affairs Program Coordinator to plan and implement the D1 Student Organization fair in the fall
- Act as Advisor to the UFCD Black Student Advocacy Group
Directly responsible for planning and execution of all UFCD-sponsored D3 and D4 events including;
- Commencement
- Professional Coat Ceremony
- Bi-Cuspid Ball
- Senior Awards Banquet
- Recruit, train, and supervise Spring Event Intern
- Manage the Senior Portraits process; create and print the graduation composite annually
- Plan and execute the Annual SAI Winter Holiday Party in December
- Oversees and supports the Class Community Chairs to provide class and college-wide Inclusive Excellence Programming
- Coordinate with the Office of Academic Affairs to spread awareness of non-majority holidays by updating files annually
- Attend meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops
- Serve on appropriate committees/workgroups/advisory councils
- Manage locker room, general office, and event inventory and storage
- Develop and keep office records of services and programs rendered
- Participate in relevant office assessments/outcome measures
- Participate in budget development and expenses for the office.
- Office Management during Summer & Fall (duties include webpage management, office decorations/maintenance, staff meeting, retreat planning, Welcome Backs, celebration/holiday parties hiring/supervising work studies and interns)
