Eastern Shore Community College is a member of the Virginia Community College System. The College serves the residents of Accomack County and Northampton County as a two-year institution of higher learning. Operating under policies established by the State Board for Community Colleges and the Eastern Shore Community College Board, the college is financed primarily with state funds, supplemented by contributions from the two counties and the Eastern Shore Community College Foundation.

The Student Services Assistant will provide help desk services which includes receiving visitors in the student services lobby, directing them to appropriate offices, assisting students with the electronic application and enrollment process, providing general information, answering phone calls, scheduling advising and direct enrollment survey, and assisting Student Services offices, as needed.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
* Excellent oral communications skills

* Experience using a large database system

* Experience working with the public

* Experience working with confidential information

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and other software at an intermediate level and knowledge of mail merge

* Experience helping people use an online process

* Experience working in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to details and completing tasks efficiently and accurately.
