Summary

As the Student Services & Records Assistant, you will be reporting to the Sr. Associate Director of Curriculum & Student Services. As a member of the Registrar & Student Services (RSS) Team, situated within the Office of Academic & Student Affairs (OASA), you will be responsible for providing support to the University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) students primarily pertaining to registration, enrollment, graduation, academic requirements, student records, and more.

Student Services Administration
  • Front-line customer service

Academic and Student Records:
  • Post Enrollment Requisite Check process
  • Certificate project management
  • Administrative support to Academic Program Committees

Program Degree Audits:
  • Updates to the online degree audit system
  • NCAA evaluations

Waiver Process Administration
  • Course equivalency evaluation for individual course waiver process
  • Broad administrative support


Required Qualifications*

  • Customer service-oriented attitude, flexibility, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment within and across offices/programs.
  • Proficiency with Google applications and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in spreadsheets, databases, and/or data retrieval.
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
  • Practical experience effectively managing projects and prioritizing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.


Work Schedule

Punctual, regular and consistent attendance is required. Standard work hours are from 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. There are limited occasions where you may be required to work during non-business hours and on weekends.

Work Locations

You are required to work on-site at least once weekly, typically on Thursdays, with additional days as needed for committee work, training, professional development, and team-building activities. Your primary workspace is in the Collegian building. You'll often travel short distances on campus and occasionally attend off-campus events, such as retreats or conferences.

Hybrid work is possible and is in accordance with the UMSI Remote Work Policy and with supervisor approval. Remote work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change depending on our needs.

This position may work with and/or support systems that maintain or process sensitive institutional data as defined by university policy. Successful candidates must comply with federal, state, and local law, and/or university policies or agreements that require the university to implement specific privacy and security safeguards, including but not limited to ITAR, EAR, HIPAA, FERPA, and FISMA. This position is responsible for protecting data and information from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration, or unauthorized deletion; and following applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files and release of data internally or externally to the University of Michigan.
