Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC), Dallas, TX is pleased to announce a Non-CPE Second Year ACPE Residency Program in Maternal Child Health (MCH) for the 2024-2025 academic year. Applications from internal and external candidates are now being accepted for the following specialty:
Women's Services at BUMC

BUMC is ranked annually as the "Best Place to Deliver a Baby." We are dedicated to providing an extensive array of services that address the full breadth of maternal child health. The Chaplain Resident will be part of the Interdisciplinary Team for your foci.
This specialty will provide a context for gaining expertise in the following areas of Pastoral/Spiritual Care:
Obstetrics: Obstetrics at BUMC cover the entire scope of maternal needs, from paternal care to post-partum support. These services combine the advanced technology expectant mothers expect with the compassionate care they deserve.
The Caruth Labor and Delivery Center: Women labor, deliver and recover in the Labor and Delivery Rooms. Each room is discretely equipped with advanced technology while being beautifully decorated. These spacious rooms allow for care to be brought to the mother and her baby, letting the new family remain together during the entire birth process.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU): The NICU is a level 3 unit, the highest level of care available, that provides life-support services and technologies for premature and seriously ill newborns.
Ante Partum Unit: The Ante Partum Unit is for high-risk pregnancies. Women who are admitted to the unit are considered at risk for pregnancy-related complications and require hospitalization prior to delivery.
Non-CPE Chaplain Resident
This position is tailored for an individual interested in a specialization in women's ministry and pursuing Associate for Professional Chaplain Board Certification.
Work Schedule:
Sunday, Monday & Wednesday: 11:30AM - 8:30PM
Tuesday and Thursday: 8:00AM - 5:00PM
Hours Per Week: 40 - 48Hr
The MCH Non-CPE Chaplain Resident II will work a minimum of 40 but up to 48 hours per week based on Pastoral Care needs within assigned clinical areas.

Non-CPE Chaplain Resident

- The Stipend is $40,378 plus benefits. There is no tuition expense
- The BUMC Manager of Pastoral Care will primarily supervise the resident. Educationally, the resident will attend a minimum of one CPE resident seminar per unit.
- Individuals interested in this offering should apply by submitting a current ACPE residency application with currently revised answers to the several requirements plus a statement as to your motivation to study this specific area of pastoral care.
- The motivation statement should demonstrate a passion for studying pastoral care of women, their families, and clinical staff and include an understanding of how one's personal history and experience has led to this interest. All applicants must also submit evidence of attaining Level II status with ACPE
