JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Prospect Development is responsible for the design and implementation of data-driven strategies for prospect identification & qualification, portfolio health and prospect research aimed at achieving the Foundation's annual and long-term fundraising goals. Reporting to the System Director of Advanced Analytics and Strategic Intelligence for Foundations and working under the direction of the President of the Baylor Scott & White All Saints Health Foundation, this individual oversees portfolio management, prospect research, data analysis, and moves management strategies designed to build healthy portfolios and a robust pipeline of major gift prospects for the All Saints Health Foundation. The Manager is responsible for ensuring that key Foundation staff have accurate, comprehensive, and timely information to inform fundraising strategies and decision-making. This individual will also work with the Director of Communications and Annual Giving to enhance the annual giving program and assist with appeal strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

Encourage and inform robust portfolio cultivation: Ensure that each development staff maintain, manage, and maximize the philanthropic potential of their portfolio through regular feedback on efficiency, productivity and opportunity. Stimulate the movement of prospects and donors from identification to stewardship for development officers. Maintain and refine prospect management protocols that ensures maximum function of development officer portfolios.

Drive grateful patient identification: Screen, research and prioritize grateful patients and families through physician referrals and screening data.

Drive prospect identification: Proactively identify new prospects for major, annual and planned gifts including individuals, companies, and foundations. Identify connections to organization through board members and friends.

Provide prospect research: Research, organize and evaluate a prospect's financial status, ability to give, philanthropic inclinations and interests, and align with Baylor Scott & White's mission. Prepare detailed prospect profiles to team members that include biographical, financial, professional, philanthropic, and capacity information.

Inform strategy: Actively participate in prospect strategy development, drive multiple projects with tight deadlines, and adapt to new situations quickly.

Ensure data collection and integrity: Manage the collection, analysis, and thorough and accurate documentation of major and planned gifts prospects. Ensure data integrity of major donor and prospect information collected during research and major gift activities.

Reporting and data support: Create and provide mailing lists for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship initiatives.

Ensure adherence to industry and professional standards and ethics including HIPAA APRA, AFP, and AHP.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

Bachelor's degree.

Experience with fundraising and support operations as a field.

Familiarity with relational databases, reporting tools, spreadsheets, charts, graphs, presentation software, complex narrative documents.

Strong skills with Microsoft Office products like Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

The ability to communicate professionally about confidential information with colleagues at all levels of the organization, as both a collaborator and a service provider

The ability to work individually with strong, self-directed effort as well as part of a dynamic, highly-collaborative team.

Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment with minimal day-to-day supervision.

Flexibility, intellectual curiosity, creativity, and attention to detail.

Prior prospect management, prospect research, or similar business experience (e.g. journalism, legal research, marketing, libraries, and corporate intelligence) - especially utilizing public records to conduct research.

Experience working with a fundraising database/CRM.
