Summary

Supervisor Laboratory - Clinical Lab

The Clinical Lab at Moffitt SouthShore will provide all necessary laboratory testing for this location to include hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and coagulation. The laboratory will have state of the art instrumentation and provide a key service for the patients that visit this location.

Position Highlights:


  • The Laboratory Supervisor of the Clinical Lab at Moffitt SouthShore will oversee daily operations of the clinical laboratory for this location.

  • This supervisory position is a working supervisor responsible for patient testing and regulatory oversite as needed.



The Ideal Candidate:


  • Must have knowledge of theory, testing principles and instrumentation related to routine clinical laboratory procedures in hematology, clinical chemistry, urinalysis, and coagulation.

  • A minimum of 3 years' laboratory supervisory experience preferred, but 3-5 years' experience in a similar setting will be considered in lieu of direct supervisory experience.

  • Master's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent field of study is preferred



Responsibilities:


  • Supervision of the technical policies and procedures as well as the management of the laboratory staff for this location.

  • The supervisor will assist with implementing new technology, maintaining the quality control and assurance programs, proficiency testing, and staff competency assessments.

  • The supervisor will provide required supervisory coverage as indicated per CLIA regulations and may also be required to fill in as a bench technologist as workload requires.



Credentials and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent field of study is required with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar clinical laboratory setting with some leadership experience.

  • Must have a state of Florida Clinical Laboratory Medical Technologist license in the specialties of chemistry, immunology, hematology, and immunohematology, with Supervisor's license required within 1 year of accepting position.
