Summary
  • Position Summary (Evening shift supervisor working 11:00am - 7:30pm one weekend shift per week)
    • Assigns and directs activities of the Cafeteria. Responsible for staff training and assuring quality customer service. Participates in the completion of performance reviews. Serves as a department Customer Service Advocate. Work is performed at a high degree of independence.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: See "Experience"
    • License/Certifications: Serve Safe certification will be required by January 2005.
    • Experience: Experience in food preparation, preferably in an institutional environment or an Associate's Degree in Food Service or closely related major.
    • Knowledge of Quality Improvement principles.
    • Knowledge of food service practices.
    • Knowledge of infection control procedures, sanitation procedures, and HACCP procedures.
    • Knowledge of quality control practices in food services.
    • Ability to establish and maintain good working relations with employees in all areas of the Medical Center.
    • Ability to lift equipment and food supplies, extensive walking, standing, bending, carrying, etc.
    • Ability to supervise a large staff.
