Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Nursing Supervisor/ Staffing Coordinator for the Behavioral Health Department is under the general supervision of the Director of Nursing Behavioral Health /the Associate Director of Nursing and the Assistant Director of Nursing who are responsible for the overall reviewing and final posting of all staffing plans and Schedules
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Behavioral Health
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Determines and oversees staffing plans/models and procedures to ensure safe staffing, appropriate utilization of resources, and coordination of professional and ancillary staff
• Ensures that personnel activities are entered into Clairvia (employee sick calls, lateness, leaves of absence, etc.)
• Generates reports to track attendance, nonproductive time.
• Ensures that time schedules are prepared in accordance with approved staffing methodologies and facilitates the appropriate allocation of staff in the designated regions
• Coordinates the on-boarding of agency personnel in collaboration with EPIC Training, Staff Development, and Directors of Nursing.
• Assures that agency staff remain in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Ensures that there are sufficient agency staff to fill gaps in staffing across all Nursing Behavioral Health Departments. Collaborate with the Supervisors of Behavioral Health Associates to ensure that all the Departments are adequately staffed.
• Oversees all agency timekeeping activities related to agency personnel.
• Oversees absence management for all Behavioral Health staff and monitors leaves of absences
• Demonstrates the ability to apply acceptable leadership skills in setting priorities, delegating appropriately, managing time, resolving issues, and deficiencies as needed
• Manages record-keeping procedures and reports
• Collaborates with other departments leadership to streamline operations
• Demonstrates skills in the area of staff engagement and change management
• Great communication and organizational skills
• Outstanding organizational and stress-management skills
• Aptitude in problem-solving
• Knowledge of computer skills
Minimum Qualifications
1. A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; and
2. Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); and
3. Three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse.
