Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The senior social worker provides support to the Program Director for the Adult Partial Hospital Programs and serves as a member of SW Executive Committee. In this role, the senior social worker is responsible for the clinical and administrative oversight of social workers assigned to the Adult Partial Hospital Programs, and may have supervisory oversight of staff members from other disciplines.
The senior social worker may also functions clinician providing direct services to patients ages 18 and older within the Adult Partial Hospital Program (PHP) when clinical coverage is needed. The senior social worker's clinical duties include psychosocial assessment, psychiatric evaluation, family assessment, crisis intervention, group treatment, treatment planning, and case coordination. All of these activities occur in collaboration with the patient's attending physician and other members of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team.
In this role, the Sr. SW may assist the Program Director in operational functioning of the APHP and provide back up support as indicated. They collaborate with the Program Director and Medical Director of the Service to monitor quality and quantity of services provided, and to develop, manage, and evaluate programs.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $64,480 - $83,824 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Functions as a clinician to program patients as needed. (Primary therapist, intake therapist, and/or group therapist) Provides a comprehensive assessment of assigned patients and their families Engages in consultation, treatment planning, and periodic care review as well as collaborates with family, social supports, community agencies (past and present) to ensure appropriate and effective care. Coordinates referrals and facilitates linkage to other appropriate agencies/supports
- As a member of the interdisciplinary leadership team for the APHP, collaborates to develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs.
- Participates in the development and/or execution of quality improvement and outcome measurement initiatives in the service area. Provides administrative and clinical supervision to therapists consistent with the Clinic and Department standards. Collaborates with program director to ensure professional development of staff. Participates in the development, implementation, leadership, and supervision of groups within the APHP.
- Develops a comprehensive treatment plan and coordinate the delivery of services to patients enrolled. Documents interventions, both direct and indirect, in the patient's medical record in compliance with the Division, Department, and Hospital policy.
- Coordinates activities related to comprehensive discharge planning for patients on his/her caseload, and mobilizes family and community resources to support the patients' successful functioning after discharge from the program.
- In partnership with the Program Director, facilitates interdisciplinary treatment team meetings as well as other general staff/therapist meetings.
- Consults to other members of the treatment team on the identification,
- assessment, and reporting of child abuse and neglect or domestic violence.
- Assists in recruitment and evaluation of performance of the APHP social work staff, or other disciplines as appropriate, including interviewing, quarterly audits of the electronic medical record, and yearly performance evaluations
- Attends Division, Department, and Clinic level staff meetings. Ensures that Division, Department, and Clinic policies and procedures are implemented with regard to professional practice and patient care. Ensures timely completion of statistical reports/forms, time sheets, and other Hospital or Division mandatory in-service trainings and Health Assessments. Subscribes to maintaining a culturally competent environment by treating patient, families, trainees, and co-workers in a sensitive manner with appropriate attention to cultural differences. Participates in available cultural competency events and training appropriate to job duties.
- Assists in ensuring back-up social work services during the absence of coworkers in the APHP.
- Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited program required.
- 5 years of post-graduate clinical experience working with individuals within a behavioral health setting preferred.
- 1-2 years' experience in clinical and/or administrative supervision preferred.
- Skills in agency based policy/procedure development preferred.
- Skills in effective employee engagement and leadership preferred.
- Knowledge of mental illness preferred.
- Ability to engage in person centered treatment preferred.
- Knowledge/skills in various therapeutic interventions including CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in de-escalation, emergency management and crisis intervention preferred.
- Knowledge of risk evaluation and mitigation preferred.
- At minimum, licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, as defined by the State of New York Education Department required.
