Surgery Scheduling Specialist - Heart & Lung Surgical Specialists

Fast-paced, high-volume clinic is looking for top skilled Surgery Scheduling Specialist

Work location: 1325 Pennsylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104

Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Here's What You Need

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
  • 2 Years related experience in Healthcare environment (preferred)
  • Medical Assistant and/or Surgery Scheduling experience (strongly preferred)
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
  • Requires strong customer skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
  • A team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

What You Will Do

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Surgery Scheduling Specialist Process
  • Schedules all inpatient and outpatient surgery and medical procedures, tests and studies ordered by the physician
  • Coordinates, registers and schedule appointments for patients according to availability
  • Conducts physician pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care
  • Ensures all required tests needed prior to surgery are done
  • Coordinates and ensures necessary equipment is ordered, room availability/scheduled, pre-surgery medication, etc., is arranged prior to scheduled procedure
  • Schedules any necessary follow-up appointments
  • Communicates and answers patients' questions regarding surgery preparation instructions, arrival/departure instructions relative to procedure
  • Performs other duties as assigned
